Jo-Ann Davis has proven herself to be a fierce advocate for TCDSB families and students. As a former TCDSB Student Trustee and current resident of Ward 4, I witnessed Jo-Ann's impact in the boardroom and on ameliorating my life as a student first hand. She has led the fight in uplifting student voices and supporting marginalized students. Ward 4 needs leadership like Jo-Ann's in the boardroom again.
Jo-Ann has a proven track record when it comes to serving our Catholic Community through the gift of our Catholic Education system. In her work as Trustee and Chair of the Board, I have personally witnessed her spiritual commitment to the common good, ensuring that the voices and needs of the most marginalized within our communities are heard and respected. I could not think of a better trustee for our ward.
Jo-Ann Davis was quite simply the most effective local official I have worked with in years. As the TCDSB Trustee in Ward 9 Jo-Ann was always knowledgeable about issues at the Board and local school level. She kept our parent community informed and consulted with us regularly. Jo-Ann was engaged, thoughtful, attentive and most importantly responsive to our concerns. She was an effective and articulate advocate for our parent community and our children. I cannot provide her a higher endorsement. I would vote for her again without question (if I could!).
My first interaction with Jo-Ann (as our trustee) was as a grade 9 student frustrated with our school's outdated computers in our library. I sent her a short email outlining the problem, and she responded almost immediately. Several days later, we had the new computers we had been needing for months. Since then, Jo-Ann has continued to be a reliable, outspoken advocate for students and the greater community. I have no doubt that she will bring experience, dedication and care to Catholic education. Her commitment to improving student mental health and providing holistic educational supports for all is evident, and I'm looking forward to seeing her return as Trustee.
Jo-Ann has always been the voice of ALL students! A strong believer in equity & inclusion for all students and not afraid to ask difficult questions in the pursuit of a higher level of accountability. She's always ready to listen to her constituents in order to better understand the issues at hand so she can draw in the right school or school board members who can help. Jo-Ann is an advocate for all TCDSB students and families, especially those who may struggle with making their voices heard. She understands the issues facing students with special education needs and how difficult this journey can be for these students and families. Trust that Jo-Ann will walk with you and accompany you on this journey!
Jo-Ann Davis is an invaluable member of our school community. Her tireless efforts over the last few years since joining our parent community have helped to lead and support initiatives to improve our school for students, staff and parents and promote our Catholic faith. As parent council Chair, Jo-Ann led an initiative for St Vincent de Paul school students and parents to delegate at a Board of Trustees meeting for desperately needed playground investment in support of student success and well-being. The delegations resulted in the creation of an annual $1.2M Playground Reserve for schools across the Board. It is this kind of positive impactful change we require and can expect from Jo-Ann as trustee in Ward 4.
I wholeheartedly endorse Jo-Ann Davis.. She has the proven experience and track record as a previous trustee to serve our community in the way that we deserve to be represented. I consulted with Jo-Ann while advocating for students and staff during the 2019 TCDSB vote on the human-rights issue of adopting the provincial code-of-conduct wording, and it was clear that Jo-Ann is the progressive voice that Ward 4 needs for representation of all families and stakeholders at Canada’s largest Catholic school board. Her proven commitment to issues of social justice, transparency, and open communication with constituents makes her the clear and only choice for Ward 4 trustee. The past two years have revealed to TCDSB parents and stakeholders just how important the role of trustee is in shaping the direction at our children’s schools; The stakes are now just too high not to vote for a change—a positive, progressive change by voting for Jo-Ann.
Jo-Ann has always impressed me with her ability to make things happen. Her confident leadership and experience in governance, planning and compassionate community-building will serve our students and families well in Ward 4. Jo-Ann is the progressive voice we need at the TCDSB.
Jo-Ann Davis has been a tireless advocate for our kids, and an amazing resource for our community.. As a parent council Chair and former trustee, she has many years of experience advocating at the local and board level to make sure that our children and our teachers have what they need to be successful. Jo-Ann's dedication to equity, and her skills as a communicator and organizer, make her the obvious choice!
I first met Jo-Ann when she was running for trustee for Ward 9. Something about her warmth and personability made me decide to help her campaign, and I’m glad I did! She made a special effort to connect with our school and our families by attending social events and always being available to discuss the issues of the day. She was an excellent trustee for Ward 9- informed, enthusiastic and involved. I highly recommend Jo-Ann, so that she may continue her good work in Ward 4. We wish her the best, and miss her greatly!
I’m very happy to support Jo-Ann Davis for Ward 4 TCDSB Trustee. Jo-Ann has a proven track record as a consensus-builder who gets things done. She cares deeply about our students and school communities, and has the experience and work ethic. Jo-Ann is the kind of strong, progressive leader we need at the Board.
As the parent of two daughters at OLPH school, I came to know Jo-Ann Davis as the TCDSB Trustee in Ward 9. Jo-Ann was actively engaged within our community, so she was able to effectively keep us current and advocate effectively at the Board level. I felt connected to the broader Catholic school community, and inspired to volunteer within ours, due to Jo-Ann!
