Origins of TCDSB Community Advisory Committees
I'm proud to have co-created the TCDSB's first Advisory Committee with then Director of Education Angela Gauthier - the Portuguese-and-Spanish-Speaking Communities Committee (called Partners in Motion) - as a TCDSB Trustee (2010 - 2018) and then to have created the Catholic Social Justice committee, which seeks to close learning opportunity gaps for those students living in poverty. Now we have 9 (see links below).
The committees include parent and community representation, as well as trustees, staff and students. Each advisory committee meets 4 times a year. Anyone may attend as an observer.
