What does 'directing my support' to Catholic education mean?

When you designate yourself as an English Separate Supporter, you foster a strong political voice through the ability to vote for your Trustee.  Thee is NO connection between where you direct your support and where taxes are directed - Ministry education grants to school boards are on a per pupil basis.

You are given 3 minutes to speak, following which trustees may ask you questions for clarification only.  Oddly, you MUST submit your full written speech at least 2 days in advance or you won't be allowed to speak.

Delegating is a great place to let ALL trustees know about local needs and demand action.

 Thanks to the St Vincent de Paul CSPC and students delegating at Board, we now have an annual $1.2M Playground & Schoolyard Fund for all schools which each school can apply for directly. The more you're able to show parent involvement and specific plans, the more likely you are to get funds. .See details for applying.

 Complaints can be sent to the Ontario Ombudsman, which is an independent and impartial Officer of the Legislature who resolves complaints about government and public sector  bodies - including school boards. It promotes fairness, accountability and transparency  in the public sector by investigating public complaints and systemic issues.

 Visit voterlookup.ca to check the accuracy of your voter information, including separate school support status. 

NOTE: Your Catholic school support does NOT move with you if your address changes.

Under Ontario’s access and privacy laws, students & their parents are
entitled to ALL their records., including ALL information in th
e Ontario Student Record.  Your principal should give you access. 

As with escalating any student matters, 

contact your local superintendent, then the Associate Director, Academic Affairs and then the Director of Education if you need help.

Visit the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario website if you are not able to gain access.
